May Icon Box From Ipsy
As an Ipsy subscriber you get the option to upgrade your bag to an “icon” box every quarter. The box is curated by an influencer/celebrity with 9 full size items, 3 of which you get to select, within a category. You can read about the february box here. Today we’re going over the May box, the icon for this box was Anastasia Beverly Hills, and as fans of the brand we were looking forward to seeing what was selected for us. The February box was only so/so and we’ve decided to skip on the September box based on preliminary sneak peeks.
Let’s start with the home runs and work our way down.
Modern Renaissance Palette, we’ve been admirers of this palette from the start, when it was first launched, we waited weeks for it to be back in stock at our local Sephora and couldn’t be happier to have it once again in our make-up routine.
The Anastasia Bronzer, Concealer & Highlight were also great products to receive, with these three alone we are ready for a full face, not to mention the eyeshadow palette.
Those 4 are all the ABH products we recieved, but we also got a Wander Beauty lip oil in the shade Skinny Dip which has quickly become a favourite. The perfect summer shade while still adding a level of moisture to the lips.
Onto a couple of items that have fallen to the wayside include: RÉDUIT BOOST in Lavender Calm, while this was a selection - it turns out to be a bit of a gimmick and with a retail value of $199 we wouldn’t recommend it. Another one we’d skip is the SKIN INC Body Sculpt Fit Serum (MSRP $32.50), it feels a bit tacky after application, perhaps that’s part of it’s magic but it didn’t feel great.
While the GLOW RECIPE Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist, seems to have been forgotten as well, there’s nothing wrong with it — there are just other mists that have been used first.
Lastly the VOLITION BEAUTY Golden Eye Brightening Serum with Vitamin C + Niacinamide is another item that needs to be re-tried, lately we’ve been using up our current serums and eye creams including TNS Eye from Skinmedica, Dermalogicas Biolum C and Skincueticals C E Ferulic.
The Next Icon Box influencer is Vanessa Hudgens and some of the potential products include: NATASHA DENONA Alloy Cheek Duo, NARS Air Matte Lip Color and ICONIC LONDON Lip & Cheek Cream Trio. Will you be grabbing the Icon Box?
